Juniors and Seniors: If you are interested in
increasing your SAT scores, increasing college acceptance rates, and qualifying
for scholarships, please join us for a
free workshop. This Saturday morning September 17 from 8:00 a.m. to
noon, in the library, we will have expert tutors from Study Smart Tutors lead a
workshop on the SAT preparation. The next SAT’s are scheduled for October
1 and November 5. To sign up for the free workshop, or to register for
the SAT, please see Mr. Martin in the counseling center. There will be FREE pizza provided
at the end of the workshop for participants.
POWDERPUFF: Students interested in participating
in Powderpuff need to pick up a permission slip from the Student Store or from
Ms. Teixeira in Room 215. There will be a COACHES MEETING Monday during
Achievement Period in Room 215. There needs to be at least one coach from
each team present.
Practices
will be Monday, September 19th – Wednesday, September 21st and then
again Monday, September 26th and Tuesday, September 27th.
PowderPuff Game will be on Wednesday, September 28th. Freshman
vs. Sophomores at 6:00 PM and Juniors vs. Seniors at 7:00 PM.
Homecoming Float: Applications for the 2016
Homecoming Parade are available in the Student Store. Class advisors and
class officers need to get their applications before September 23rd
to ensure a spot in the parade!
Ski/Snowboard Club: You want to play in the snow this winter….Come to the meeting
Monday September 19th in Room 126 During RTI. DON’T FORGET!!!
Gear UP: The 17th annual College Quest
event, a college information night, will take place on Tuesday, September 20,
2016 at Simpson University from 5:00 to 8:00 pm in the gymnasium. This
FREE community event is open to everyone and is designed so that north state
students and their families can explore higher education opportunities.
Representatives from colleges and universities from across the western US will
be on site to showcase the unique features of their institutions.
Regional community colleges will be part of the event as well.
Additionally, local high school and community representatives will be on hand
to assist families in planning for college, including where to find
scholarships to help with college costs. There will also be financial aid
workshops presented by College OPTIONS staff at 5:30 pm and 6:45 pm.
Seniors: Shasta College is hosting
a Preview Day on Thursday October 6. There will be campus tours, and they
will provide information on majors, admissions, financial aid, and student
life. Lunch will be provided. We will depart AUHS at 8:15, and
return by 1:45. Seating is limited. If you are interested in attending,
or have any questions, please stop by and see Mr. Martin, our GEAR UP site
coordinator, in the counseling center by September 23.
CSF Reminder:
today, Friday 16th, is your LAST CHANCE to vote for your CSF representatives.
All members and respective members come to room 310 and cast your vote!
