Prom:
There is a meeting after school on Thursday, January 24th in room
326. We will be planning for the 2019 Prom and deciding on a theme. Mrs.
Bradlyn needs all hands on deck. If you are interested in helping please don't
miss it!
Juniors:
Simpson University is offering a free practice SAT on February 16th
from 8am to Noon. Register online at simpsonu.edu/freepracticesat. Results will
be available on the same day.
Students:
the Attendance Challenge qualification list is posted. If your name is on the
list, you will be invited to attend the celebration on Wednesday, January 30
from 10:45 a.m. – 11:34 a.m. (4th period). Many prizes and food will
be given out at this event. The grand prize will be announced next week, so
stay tuned.
Freshman,
Sophomores and Juniors: The College OPTIONS Summer
Program Scholarship is an open opportunity for all 9th – 11th graders to attend academic
enrichment programs on college campuses throughout the United States or
internationally. This program allows for local students to have a college
experience by taking classes, living in residence halls and interacting with
students from other parts of California, the nation and the world. Deadline to
apply is Tuesday, March 26, 2019. Stop by the Go Center for more information.
Attention Sophomores and Juniors:
NEXT week we will be having our annual ROP Preview Week Jan 29th –
Feb 1st in the Library. The ROP instructors will be coming to campus
to meet with students and talk about the off-campus classes they teach. If you
receive an invitation to attend please bring it to the presentation along with
your signed Activity Release form. If you did not receive an invite, but are
interested in meeting the ROP instructors, please sign-up with Dani in the Go
Center. Activity Release is required!
Winter
Homecoming is next week and the Theme is: Mickey
Madness
Today
is Coco day. Dress up as your favorite Coco character with bright colors,
flowers, and possibly a ukulele.
Thursday
is Inside Out. Come dressed in your class colors. Freshman, purple. Sophomores,
red. Juniors, blue and seniors, Yellow.
Friday
is Moana day. Dress in your favorite Hawaiian shirts and leis and make sure to
come to support our boys and girls basketball team for their homecoming game
against West Valley. The Blue Crew theme is Hawaiian.
Take a picture of yourselves dressed up for homecoming week and
upload it to Instagram with the hashtag #AUHSMickeyMadness for a chance to win
a prize! On Friday, the person with the best picture will win a $20 Dutch Bros.
gift card, from Leadership, to satisfy their caffeine cravings.
Winter
Homecoming Dance: Saturday, January 26th
come experience a whole new world at our winter homecoming dance located at
The Atrium in Downtown Redding.
Dance Tickets will be on sale this week during lunch, cost of tickets are
single $12, single w/ ASB $10, and $15 at the door.
