Freshmen:
It’s never too early to start saving for college! Check out this great
scholarship opportunity for up to $1,000 through Reach Higher Shasta
specifically for First Generation High School Freshman. Visit www.shastarcf.org/scholarships
to learn more and to apply. Deadline is April 30th.
Students:
Anderson Aqua Gators is taking summer swim team registrations until June 11th. If you are between the ages of 5-18 and are
interested in being part of the Anderson Aqua Gators, call or text Jeanne
Sanders at 526-1946 for more information, or come to the pool on Tuesday, April
16th @ 5:30 for assistance in registering .
Seniors: The car wash originally scheduled for last
weekend is rescheduled for Saturday, April 27th.
Seniors: Ultimate Grad Company will be on campus today
during lunch to pick up late graduation and class ring orders, there is only
one date left after this to order your cap and gown so don’t delay.
Juniors:
you will be taking the CAST exam today during 5th and 6th
period. Your room assignments have been posted next to the RTI lists. If you
have specific questions regarding the test, please see your science teacher or
Mr. Mason.
Attention Students: Wes
Camp volunteers needed! If you’re at least 16 years old and have a minimum of
2.0 GPA, please apply. It looks great on college and scholarship applications,
and is a great opportunity to get some community service hours. Applications
are available in the Go Center.
Seniors: it is not too late to
complete your FAFSA. If you need assistance please talk to your counselor
or your TRIO advisors. Those seniors planning on attending Shasta
College, you have to have a completed FAFSA on file to qualify for the First Year
Free Tuition (Shasta Promise).
Juniors: this is testing season! Now is the time
to register for the college entrance exams (SAT/ACT). You may qualify for
a fee waiver, see your counselors or TRIO advisors. There is also
a FREE test preparation workshop offered on May 1 here at AHS after school to
help you prepare for those entrance exams. Sign up in the GO Center to
reserve your spot.
Upward
Bound Students: Are you ready for the Spring Break trip? Meet in classroom 321
during lunch on Thursday April 11th to hear important trip details
and information. This is a mandatory meeting for all students going on the
field trip. See you there!
