Great News students! Now you can “earn while you learn” with the new Upward Bound program.   Explore new careers, travel to different colleges, and improve your academics as you earn up to $40 per month during the school year and $60 for the month of June. We have limited spots available, so get your application turned in soon. See Miss Sheila and Miss Ronda in the GO Center if you have any questions.

Attention Students: Wes Camp is coming soon and we need volunteers! If you’re at least 16 years old and have a 2.0 GPA, please apply. Applications are available in the Go Center.

Ethan Noll and Sarah Roe were selected as the February AUHS students of the month! Congratulations to both of you.

Attention All Students Serious about Medical Careers: Send an email to Mr. Safford at tsafford@auhsd.net to receive an application for the 2018 Health-Careers Summer Institute, where you can job shadow 9 or more different medical professionals in both Redding hospitals. If you have any questions please email Mr. Safford ASAP! Applications due by March 1st

Attention Students: This week we are celebrating National FFA week, which is an event recognized by FFA chapters across the nation.  In honor of the festivities, come out to the quad for fun games all week.  Also, we are collecting donations for our “Kiss the Pig” fundraiser which will go directly to the ACCA charity.  We have 4 jars, each one representing a different teacher.  Whichever jar has the most money in it by Thursday will be the teacher who has to “Kiss the Pig”.

Field Trip Opportunities: Shasta College is having a Preview Day for 2 of their fastest growing career pathways: Health Science and Advanced Manufacturing. These are 2 separate field trips on the same day, Friday March 2nd. The Health Science Field Trip will take a tour of Shasta College’s medical programs and observe or assist a simulated birth! The Manufacturing Field Trip will tour Shasta College’s cutting edge manufacturing facilities and test out a virtual welder. Pick up a permission slip from Dani in the Go Center if you would like to go on one of these field trips. Space is limited, so don’t delay!

SENIOR REMINDER:  Ads for Grads are due TODAY, February 16th.

Track: Attention all track participants please get a gold slip from Mrs. Ahern before practice starts next Tuesday.  Turn it into Mrs. Romero or Mr. Curiel.

Students: A Hunters Education class is being offered Tomorrrow, Saturday February 17th from 10:00 A.M.-2:00 P.M. in room 311 right here on the Anderson High School Campus.  You must sign up on line at www.wildlife.ca.gov/hunter-education, there are only 4 seats remaining for this Saturday’s class. A fee of $15 will be collected at the door.  March 17th and April 21st are the next scheduled classes if you cannot attend this Saturday.  Any questions stop by room 311.
