Juniors and Seniors: Do you plan on taking the ACT or SAT this fall? Study Smart Tutors will be offering two Test Prep workshops this fall for the SAT and ACT. The ACT Test Prep Workshop will take place at West Valley on October 20th and the SAT Test Prep Workshop will take place on October 27th at Anderson High School. Sign up to attend in the Go Center.

Attention all girls soccer players:  Practice with begin on Oct 22 at 3 p.m. for all those not in a fall sport. You have to have a gold card to practice.  There is a preseason workout and an information packet in the student store, room 316, or the girls’ locker room.  Please sign in when you pick up a packet.  Also there will be a meeting this Friday, Oct 12th during RTI in the library.  If you cannot make it make sure you have signed up on the list in 316 or in the girls’ locker room office

Attention all Sophomores and Juniors:  If you need help filling out the online application for the Yosemite trip this week see Mrs. Romero in the library during RTI. Applications are due next Monday so don’t delay.

Students: if you are signed up for the PSAT, you will taking the exam on Wednesday, October 10. Your room assignments have been posted near the RTI list. Please check your room assignment and proceed to the location by 7:45 a.m.

Any sophomore or junior that wants to take a free (only 8 community service hours required) education trip to Yosemite for a week in April need to apply to the McConnell Foundation between October 1 and October 15th.  Handouts on how to apply are located in the student store, girls’ locker room, Rm 316 Mrs. Romero, Rm 220 Mr. Clawson, Rm 321 Mr. Long, and Rm 322 Mr. Longnecker.
Students: Do you enjoy arguing? Debate? Acting? Public Speaking? Do you have any interest in the legal system? You could be a part of Anderson’s Mock Trial team. Check in with Mr. Jones to sign up or to get more information.
Attention Shasta College TRIO students:  There is a field trip opportunity to visit Southern California & Disneyland, November 10-14th.  Please stop by GO Center and see Mrs. Esparza for a permission slip packet.  
Attention all Anderson High School Students: Game on Together will be holding a Super Smash Brothers tournament on Thursday from 3-5pm in the Cub Connection room with all the comfy couches. The tournament is free to enter. However, there will be a limited amount of entries. Get there right away and sign up to play. After annihilating all other competitors, the winner will receive two large pizzas and a 2-liter of soda from Round Table Pizza.

Students: The California Department of Fish and Wildlife will be offering a Hunters Ed. Class here at Anderson High School starting November 18th from 10 AM-2 PM.  Three additional classes will be offered Dec. 16th, Jan. 20th and Feb. 17th.  The class will be in room 311.  The cost is $15 at the door.  If you have any questions call Joe Hale at 530-744-8474.  Seating is limited to the first 25 students.
