Juniors and Seniors: If you are interested in increasing your ACT scores, increasing college acceptance rates, and qualifying for scholarships, please join us for a free workshop.  This Saturday morning October 15 from 8:00 a.m. to noon, in the library, we will have expert tutors from Study Smart Tutors lead a workshop on the ACT preparation.  Pizza and snacks will be provided. The next ACT is scheduled for October 22.  To sign up for the free workshop, or to register for the ACT, please see Mr. Martin in the counseling center.

Sober Grad meeting TONIGHT at 6pm in the Cafeteria.

All students:  If you are interested in helping plan this week’s BLUE CREW, please come to an informational meeting TODAY during lunch in Ms. Teixeira’s Room, Room 215.  We will be discussing new chants and cheers and planning activities for our upcoming games!  See you there!

Cub Connection:  Driver’s Education is being offered for free! Our coarse will run from October 25th thru December 15th on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45 to 4:45. Only 50 spots available so please see Jennifer in room 212 to sign up today.

Seniors: This Friday is the absolute LAST day to get your Senior Picture taken for the yearbook, at this point it will cost you $20, please call Monica at Creative Portraits and get your picture done before it’s too late.

Ski and Snowboard Club members: The winter season is fast approaching!!  There will be a meeting in room 126 during RTI on Tuesday, October 11th.  Hope to see you there!  We need you!!

Juniors and Seniors:  If you may be interested in attending CSU, Chico, there is an opportunity to attend their Preview Day on Saturday, October 22.  Activities include tours, scholarship opportunities, financial aid workshops, meet with academic department and admissions representatives, and learn about the support programs at CSU, Chico. See Mr. Martin to sign up and get your authorization form. Space on the van is limited, so return your form ASAP.

Seniors:  On Wednesday October 19 at 5:30 pm we will have our Financial Aid/Cash 4 College Night at AUHS in the library. Come to the event with a parent, and if you and your parent have each created your FSA-ID, you will be able to apply for the FAFSA that night.  There will be financial aid specialists to assist with your application. Refreshments will be provided, and each parent who attends will be given a very helpful book.  Please contact Mr. Martin with any questions.

Play Fantasy Football: Congrats to Alfredo Lopez for dethroning the champion and winning week 4 fantasy football with a total of 144 points; impressive!  Week 5 rosters are now available, pick them up today.

Lost earring found in the entry of the PAC on Monday evening, if you lost an earring please come see Bonnie to describe the earring.

Native American students your permission slip for the Humboldt State Field trip must be turned in by TODAY Thursday, October 6.

Attention DACA students:  Shasta College is hosting a clinic for DACA students (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals).  The clinic is this afternoon from 3:30-5:30pm at Shasta College, room 2066.  Learn what DACA is, who is eligible, and how you can qualify.  See Mr. Martin in the counseling office if you have any questions
